The Township of Terrace Bay recently completed planting 75 new trees in several public park areas.  Replacing of the dead trees in public areas was a Terrace Bay Council initiative, which was identified in their strategic plan.

The Township’s Community Development Committee organized the tree replacement program.  Planting and watering the new trees was achieved using the recreation, public works and volunteer fire department staff.

In addition to the Township’s new trees, several other organizations planted trees; Lake Superior High School, Terrace Bay Public School, St. Martins School, and the Terrace Bay Community Church.  In total, approximately 140 trees have been planted since last fall by these organizations.
