CROSSOVER INSIDER – Theatrical Releases Hitting The Shelves

Some of the biggest theatrical releases of 2010 make their way onto DVD and Blu Ray this month starting with three major titles this week. In total, nine new releases hit the shelves at Crossover Video and Games on April 5th and one special release on April 8th. Let’s take a look at each title in detail;
Little Fockers: starring Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro- When Family-patriarch Jack Byrnes wants to appoint a successor, Greg Focker is put to the test to see if he has what it takes. (DVD and Blu Ray)
Narnia- Voyage of the Dawn Treader: starring Ben Barnes- RELEASED ON FRIDAY! The Kids return to Narnia with their cousin Eustace where they meet up with Prince Caspian for a trip across the sea aboard the royal ship The Dawn Treader. Along the way they encounter dragons, dwarves, merfolk, and a band of lost warriors before reaching the edge of the world. (DVD and Blu Ray)
Tron Legacy: starring Garrett Hedlund- The son of a virtual world designer goes looking for his father and ends up inside the digital world that his father designed. (DVD and Blu Ray) (Remake of a 1982 film of the same name)
Crime D’Amour: starring Kristin Scott Thomas- A struggle ensues between two powerful women, the two top executives in the French office of an American multinational. Christine has the upper hand and no mercy. Humiliated and nearly destroyed, Isabelle begins to plot her revenge. (DVD) (French w/English Subtitles)
Haunting at the Beacon: starring Teri Polo- After the loss of their four year old son, Bryn and Paul Shaw move to the charming old Beacon Apartments where they encounter an evil presence. (DVD)
La Nostra Vita: When a construction worker finds the remains of an illegal immigrant under a work site, he doesn’t report it fearing he’ll be out of a job if construction comes to a halt. This ends up upsetting his simple and happy life. (DVD) (Subtitled)
The 19th Wife: Fundamentalist sect member BeckyLyn is accused of killing her husband. Queenie, another wife in the polygamist sect, doesn’t believe BeckyLyn is capable of such violence. Desperate to prove her innocence, she reaches out to her excommunicated son Jordan for help in freeing his mother. (DVD)
Reste Avec Moi: The interconnected story of several individuals who lives are changed dramatically through their relationships. (DVD) (French w/English subtitles)
Vanquisher: In the noir-ish dystopian future of Sector 70, Jarron Brenner did well by the system until his body was invaded by the technology he helped to sell. After a series of traumatic events, a mysterious agent Miranda May takes it upon herself to help save Jarron’s life. (DVD)
Your Love Never Fails: The story of Laura, a working mother who just wants to spend more time with her daughter Kelsey, 9. Unfortunately, her demanding boss Paul has other ideas. (DVD)
FOR THE GAMERS:
Mayhem 3D– A demolition derby game that allows gamers to play in 3D on any TV (with the included glasses). Available on PS3 and 360.
Glee Karaoke Volume 2– Players can sing along with a full line-up of songs from season 1 of Glee. You can also play interactive multi-player singing games and view clips of musical montages from the show. (Comes with microphone) (WII only)
As was first announced on OntarioNewsNorth.com, Crossover Video and Games will be hosting the first (of hopefully many) Crossover Markets on Saturday, April 16th from 12-3. The Crossover Market will be an opportunity for local and area small business owners to showcase their products just in time for Easter and Mother’s Day. The first six paid tables will be guaranteed a spot in the Market. Four tables have already been confirmed including; Stella and Dot, Avon, Tupperware and Blissful Body Confections (formerly Willow Ridge Soap Co.) Residents of all nearby communities are welcomed to attend in support of small/home based businesses. If this market is successful, it will become a monthly event! Believe it or not, we are only one month away from our six month anniversary of the opening of Crossover Video and Games!
