GREENSTONE LAUNCHES PROCESS TO CREATE A STRATEGIC PLAN

“The creation of this corporate strategic plan is a critical next step as the Municipality of Greenstone embraces the opportunities before us to respond to, and benefit from, the economic and social development opportunities that lie ahead for our residents and our neighbourhoods. All community members are encouraged to get involved in the development of this strategy,” Mayor Renald (Ron) Beaulieu.

GREENSTONE, ON – The Municipality of Greenstone is embarking on a process to develop a Corporate Strategic Plan for the Municipality. This Strategic Plan will assist decision making and provide direction in terms of priorities for the provision of community services and investment, and identify actions that build on the community’s existing strengths and emerging opportunities. In developing this strategy the Municipality has retained the services of Millier Dickinson Blais Inc., an economic development consulting firm with considerable experience working with communities and regions across Canada. Millier Dickinson Blais will be working to engage Council, staff, residents and the business community to build a collective vision for the Municipality of Greenstone.

As part of this strategic planning exercise, the Municipality will offer opportunities for community input into the draft strategy created by Council and informed by local research and data analysis. This will ensure that the vision, goals and actions in the Strategic Plan reflect the needs, values and aspirations of all community members.

Residents are encouraged to visit the online survey available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5PQJ3J5 and share their perspectives, ideas and vision for the Municipality of Greenstone. Survey will be available between July 11th and July 31, 2012.

Community information sessions will be scheduled for early fall.
