10-year Anniversary of Unsolved Fatal Collision

oppcolourNORTH BAY, ON – July 31, 2015 marks the ten year anniversary of a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 17 at Mooze Miikan Road, Commanda Township, and claimed the lives of three people.

At approximately 4:15 p.m. on July 31, 2005, a westbound 2005 Hyundai was forced to take evasive action to avoid a head on collision with an eastbound green Ford Windstar van.  The van was in the process of passing another eastbound vehicle. As a result of this evasive action, the Hyundai veered into the eastbound lane where it was struck by another eastbound Dodge van. 

An extensive investigation by the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit has not identified the person responsible for the collision.  The OPP is appreciative and wants to thank the public for all of the information that has been provided to try and help solve this investigation.

The OPP does not close unsolved cases and will continue to investigate any information that may move this case forward.
