The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is seeking the public’s help in identifying the individuals responsible for shooting a calf moose prior to the 2016 calf season and abandoning it.

On October 23, 2016, conservation officers responded to a complaint that a calf moose had been shot and left southeast of Ignace, off Theodore Road, adjacent to Adele Lake. The kill site indicates the moose had been shot with a firearm and left to spoil. The calf moose was shot prior to the opening of the calf season. Conservation officers investigated the area but could not find any evidence of who shot the moose.
