Frosty Days 2018 Opening Ceremonies

MANITOUWADGE, ON – Friday, February 16th the Township of Manitouwadge annual Frosty Days Winter Carnival weekend opening ceremonies were held at the Kiwissa Ski Centre.  Manitouwadge Recreation Director Shawna Patterson welcomed those in attendance before announcing the 2018 Citizen of the Year (article/photos to come) and introducing the Mayor, Andy Major, who welcomed those in attendance, encouraging them to participate in the weekend’s events before officially declaring Frosty Days started.

Many were gathered for the opening and enjoyed marshmallows and hot chocolate during the presentations/openings words.  Winners of the Snowman / Ice Sculpture contest, Sponsored by the Manitouwadge Nuclear Waste Community Liaison Committee were announced and the ceremony wrapped up with Patterson directing those in attendance to turn their attention to the main hill where an the torch run skiers and snowboarders weaved their way down the Main Run.
