Thunder Bay District Health Unit and ONA Reach Tentative Agreement

Thunder Bay District Health Unit and the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA), representing public health nurses, have reached a tentative collective agreement.

“We are pleased to confirm that Thunder Bay District Health Unit has reached a tentative agreement with our public health nurses,” says Dr. Janet DeMille, Medical Officer of Health and Chief Executive Officer. “Public health nurses are valued and well-respected members of our workforce and play an integral role in providing individuals, organizations and communities in this District with important health programs and services. This tentative agreement balances the needs of nurses, the Health Unit and the people we serve.”

Full details of the tentative agreement are confidential. The agreement will be presented to the Thunder Bay District Health Unit Board of Health for ratification shortly. Following ratification, public health services that were impacted by the labour disruption will resume as soon as possible.
