MANITOUWADGE, ON – Manitouwadge Public School students in the Primary division were showing their compassion by observing  Purple Day Monday (March 26, 2012).

Purple Day is an international grassroots effort dedicated to increasing worldwide awareness about epilepsy.  March 26th was Worldwide Epilepsy Awareness Day and our students jumped on the band wagon.  All of the Junior and Senior Kindergarten students and staff participated by wearing purple clothing and  purple ribbons in recognition of those people who live with epilepsy – a disorder that quite often goes unrecognized.   To add to the fun, the Junior and Senior Kindergarten students enjoyed a purple cake with purple icing!!

Once again, Manitouwadge Public School students learn about the world around them and how to be compassionate towards those faced with special challenges. Great Purple-Participation students, staff and parents at  MPS!
