Conductor Gerry Price shares details Sailors & Bobby Socks

Conductor Gerry Price with the North Shore Singers in December 2010.

SCHREIBER, ON – The North Shore Singers have become very well known accross Northwestern Ontario with fans wait in anticipation for the announcement of their Spring, Christmas, and occassionally more intimate, Summer appearances all year round. With the majority of their group residing in Schreiber or Terrace Bay, and travel expenses being absorbed by their volunteer members, the shows are always based out of those two communities, however, the NSS have made a habit of travelling both East and West to other communities on the Shore to share their talents performing beyond to Nipigon, Manitouwadge, or Marathon though which direction they choose to drive and which community lands the honour of being the  third ‘additional’ venue is always wished for equally by the North Shore music lovers wishing to attend.

This weekend the North Shore Singers bring Sailors & Bobby Socks to venues in Schreiber, Terrace Bay and Marathon (they haven’t played the last town in a few years) with a special treat, CFNO News Director and Morning Show Host Al Cresswell has once again joined with the NSS as narrator, a special treat that was thouroughly enjoyed by attendees of their Stoll down Broadway” show last spring.

OntarioNewsNorth.com Editor Karina Hunter spoke with Conductor Gerry Price yesterday via Skype from the Schreiber Public Library and he shared details of what attendees of this weekend’s concerts can expect, the style of music and the soloist who will be performing.  We also spoke to Price about his recent induction to the Rainbow Stage Theatre Hall of Fame (read more about that here).
