Students Give Back Supporting the Diabetes Clothing Drive

Manitouwadge Public School News

MANITOUWADGE, ON – This has been a busy week as usual at MPS.  For some time now our school has been pleased to be a drop off centre for the Diabetes Clothesline.

We have been accepting and storing your donations to this very worthwhile cause.  Twice a year a delivery truck comes to the school and our students have been donating their brawn and loading the truck for them.  This year our students loaded a very impressive load of 242 large bags and 40 boxes.  These items are destined for retail used clothing stores in the area and re-sold – with proceeds going towards the diabetes association.

Not a fitting reward for all their hard work, later in the day our students took part in a less exciting event - they received immunizations!!! Some of them, like this student, even still wearing a smile!!

Once again our students are commended for so eagerly stepping up to help in any humanitarian venture!  Also a big thank you to everybody who so generously donated items for this great cause.
