Police Seek Assistance w/Break & Enter and Male Charged After Accidental Shooting in Wawa

BREAK AND ENTER TO GARAGE AT WAWA RESIDENCE

WAWA, ON –  July 17, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Wawa Detachment were advised of a break in to a garage on Queen St in Wawa. The building had been entered sometime overnight. Items that were taken included various bottles of alcohol. OPP continue to investigate this matter and ask that anyone with any information to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers.

ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING AT ANJIGAMI LAKE – Male Charged

WAWA, ON –  July 18, 2012 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Wawa Detachment were advised that a male had accidentally shot himself at a camp on Anjigami Lake. The male suffered injuries to his forehead and was rushed to Lady Dunn Health Centre were he was treated and released.

OPP have charged 40 year old Dale WHITMELL of Goulais River, Ontario with Careless Use of a Fireman. The accused is scheduled to appear in Wawa Criminal Court on September 17, 2012 to answer to this charge.
