Hunter Photography

Saturday afternoon I was blessed with a beautiful family

to photograph for stock photos I will use to make my new brochures and promotional materials. I had taken photos of them years ago when I had Hunter Printing Solutions and was thrilled that the Mom, Shelley, was willing to allow me back in to her home for these photos. I wanted to find a family that had used my services in the past as I will thank her with a few (it’s no big win for her but what I can afford to show my gratitude) prints at no cost and the disk of photos from yesterday’s shoot and an other I hope to do with them.  This is something that I don’t usually offer as printing is included in my services (as with any photographer) and so I keep the ‘negatives’ for lack of a better term.

It was definetely a good idea to do the shoot with Shelly and her 5 beautiful kids to help me get back into the swing of it.  It can be challenging to direct a family in their own enviornment and there is planning that should be done in advance and this was a big reminder of what I need to have prepared when I go to people’s homes (I wasn’t properly organized yesterday and this obviously would not be acceptable when going to ‘real’ shoots).

Aside from the Mom being very patient and tolerant with me, she is wonderfully gentle (do not mistake that for pushover, these kids are incredibly well behaved) with her children which makes being around them alot of fun and very relaxing.  It is great to be around someone like that, who I can learn alot from about parenting and running a household AND work on my professional skills as well and so I am very appreciative of the opportunity and look forward to when I will be able to put a package of prints together for her to show it.

I will now have to get back into the brainstorming I had started before Christmas for my brochures and promotional materials. It will be nice to do so equipped with a good number of photographs to inspire me.

Of course there is the issue of my health that is still needing to be addressed. I arrived at Shelly’s home 30 minutes late thanks to being held up at the hospital. This was thanks to a ridiculous standing order the locum had written almost 2 weeks ago, requiring I wait 6 hours between injections when the pain meds I am receiving are only effective for about 3 1/2 hours at most and can be administered every 4 hours (as they had been in the past). I am very optimistic about Dr.Crawford being back at the clinic tomorrow and hope this will mean options for treatment.
