Afternoon at the Playground

Sunday, March 8th, was a beautiful day and I intended to take advantage of it

and did! It took most of the day to get to the fun outside part but towards the end of the afternoon (after groceries and the hospital of course – more painwere finally on our way out into the snow. Lloyd was going snowmobiling with a friend and Emeraude and I were on our way to the Public School Playground.

I was a little concerned about going to the playground as Emeraude’s ‘new’ sitter (I hired her for Emeraude’s weekday outside time -Monday to Friday15h to 17h – as I have been struggling with fatigue in the afternoons and making it through to the end of the day) had stuck to bringing her there both the days she came that Emeraude did not have skating… I had, tried to offer some ideas for engaging, educational, outdoor play via several emails, and was hoping this would ensure that the week ahead would offer some new destinations as I need to be able to take advantage of the near by playground when I am able to manage some fun. It turned out this would not be an issue, she had said she would stay on until I found someone new in spite of a shoulder injury preventing her from pulling the wagon or lifting Emeraude, unfortunately at lunch on Monday she cancelled after I had made it clear that this time was indeed for enjoying the outdoors and I preferred if Emeraude was not driving around unnecessarily –  this was quite disappointing for my girl who had been very much looking forward to their scheduled play time, and to me who had spent a lot of time {and money as I thought that generous compensation would encourage a bit of independent planning and motivation to brave the elements} trying to get things rolling and organized the week prior. I hope to find someone soon but have been unable to find the energy needed for posting the job around local message boards as I am now back to struggling through my days, depending on Lloyd skipping/rescheduling  some of his own activities to help.
We returned home just as Lloyd was arriving perfect timing! and Emeraude had fun peeking into the engine of his sled and helping him clean out some ‘cat tails’. You might guess that the ‘cat tails’ spurred a lot of conversation about homonyms

Enjoy these photos of our adventures! It is a shame I could not capture the sounds of her bird calls, more specifically raven calls, which actually had the ravens circling. Something she had showed off to her sitter, who had enjoyed it quite a bit, the week before as well.
