Hows your MS on this April Fools Day? –

Multiple Sclerosis Blog

.Really good read.

The first paragraph really touched base with me:

“How appropriate that our monthly blog post, “How’s Your MS Today?” falls on April Fool’s Day!  To me, living with multiple sclerosis is much like having some annoying bully pull practical jokes on me when I least expect.  You know what I mean?”

OH BOY! I do know what he means – sincerely! I had an interesting run-in with my family doc today while at the emerg with Lloyd. He seems to think this is a joke of some sort, I asked him about a prescription I’ve been leaving messages about for 2 weeks now (meloxicam) and he called it in to the pharmacy – kind of – but didn’t offer any explination as to what the problem had been… He did make a very interesting ‘comment’ in regards to another medication though, I brought up his attitude about the dilaudid injections prior to my steroid treatment working and explained to him that he had me quite worried about addiction and dependance but that I had no problem stopping the injections when I didn’t need them, he offered no apologies for the attempts at worrying me needlessly, didn’t actually seem happy that there had been no problem stopping and brought up me missing an appointment a couple weeks ago. I explained to him that I had been at the emerg waiting and then gone to the clinic, he was adamant about arguing that I had not been there, I explained I had not only been there, so was Linda (rendez-vous) with her son and I had spoken with them while waiting… He still argued (why the heck would I lie???) and I became tired of it so tried to get back to the prescription I needed at which point he rudely turned his back saying “we’ll deal with that at your appointment”  {this is not until the end of the month – would he have me in pain until then to ‘teach me a lesson’ because I missed an appointment??? if he is that petty and hateful he should not be MY doctor!}.  ANYHOW, Lloyd is getting better. He was giving anti-biotics needlessly I think and I will get to the bottom of that but otherwise he now has an order for meds at the emerg which he receives through an oxygen mask – it seems his childhood asthma is acting up from the strep infection…
