Double Graduation (eng.version)

Double Graduation at the École Publique Franco-Manitou

by Karina Hunter

Thursday, June 18th, students of École Publique Fanco-Manitou celebrated another year of learning, adventure and friendship with a double graduation ceremony. As is there tradition, the grade 8 class shared this momentous evening with students from junior & senior kindergarten; reminding the ‘big kids’ of how far they’ve come and the little ones of the journey that lay ahead.

This night was a great example of the benefits of small class sizes at École Publique Franco-Manitou which they are proud to say, promote a family atmosphere.  After a supper for the graduates and their families in the school gymnasium, extended family, friends and schoolmates arrived to join the festivities.

Junior and senior kindergarten classes performed “Pirouette Cacahouète” as an example of their hard work and cultural studies. Certificates were presented to each of them, marking a very special step in their educational journey.

The time had at last arrived for the grade 8 students, Hudson Hunter and Brandon LaValley-Gravel. Principal Francine DeMars presented the young men with their diplomas and special gifts.  The evening wrapped up with a dance for the students and their friends. Congratulations to these young men for all their hard work and best of luck as they continue their studies at Manitouwadge High School and École Secondaire Cité-Supérieure.
