Description: First of 2 telehealth appointments on this day. (not good will post about this)
Start Time: 11:45

Dr. PS is a pain specialist my family doctor has insisted I see. I would have preferred to wait until after supper to have this appointment but my family doctor does not have much respect for a patient’s right to decide on course of treatments.Actually, he has told me on several occasions that a patient does not decide their treatment, the doctor decides.

This day is another example of my belief that my family doctor does not hear what my limits are or have any respect for my quality of life or my schedule or my priorities. I would NEVER have agreed to have 2 big appointments like this in one day. The fact that he seems to have booked these on the same day (or at the least been aware of it and done nothing to correct the situation) really irritates me.  This is TOO MUCH for me to handle in one day, I am going to be exhausted, and not just that day but most likely for a few days afterwards. My cognitive functions were seriously hindered when I became sick with Multiple Sclerosis and I am careful not to overload myself mentally because it does serious physical damage. Consequentially I suffer more severely from the symptoms of MS I have, fatigue is increased and can become quite overwhelming. I do also have to make a living to support myself and my children like anyone else and these appointments, on the same day, just two days prior to our tour of the fire station for the Emeraude Exploring collection could become a real problem.

As if I wasn’t dissapointed enough by his seeming  insensitivity to the limits MS places on me and respecting my right to some semblance of a life, my family doc thought it appropriate to pass messages about these appointments through the nurses station when I have been VERY clear on several occasions about needing for him to respect my privacy and NOT making my schedule a matter of common knowledge among the nurses. My medical appointments are NOT there business, my life is already quite consumed with trips to the emerg and therefore, most of my day to day living is done with nurses watching so the few things that are private I like to keep that way. Nurses have often though it appropriate to question me in regards to appointments, my plans, etc. They may do so meaning well but that does not change the fact that the questions are unwelcome so this is now yet another matter of uneeded stress that I will have to bring to his attention yet AGAIN.
