Title:

OLOL Grade 8 Grad
Location: Our Lady of Lourdes Parish
Description: Individual & Group photos for the Grade 8 Graduating class, outside the church before the mass. I don\’t know yet if I will be staying for mass. It will just depend what Emeeraude & Lloyd are up to.
Start Time: 17h30
Date: 2009-06-23

This was a really nice evening… I didn’t know if I would make it on time. I had asked the nurse to call my family doctor and get permission for me to receive my injection 15 minutes early which would have ensured I arrived 15 minutes prior to anyone wanting photos (16h45 – 4:45pm) though I never knew what had actually been arranged as  the time I believed had been arranged passed as did the time  I was originally due for the injection (so dissapointing agan that I am forced to be at the er every 4 hours with my doctor refusing to refer me for a pump or find some other reasonable option for the meds that allow me to walk/move )

There were some complications with the group photo as we tried to wait for all the graduates to arrive just to end up rushing at the last minute as Father Kevin decided to start the mass without everyone in attendance so I had to just snap a few photos with those who had arrived (when there are only 9 graduates, it’s pretty obvious if you are missing someone and I never considered he might start without them as the mass was for them???). The young man who was the latest was walking up the sidewalk as Lloyd and I were driving away so he must have run up the ilse as the mass started.

Afterwards, FatherVincent did decide to gather them outside, unfortunately there were reasons for which I wanted the photos done before hand. #1 – when there are people all over the place it is difficult (nearly impossible) to take a group photo as the subjects will be distracted and not one will have everyone looking, this happened of course and so the ‘group’ photo is unusable and since the other is incomplete, it too is unusable. #2.The sun is a very important factor in outdoor photos and 5:15 pm (17h15) was the ideal time for good sun for this photo. After the mass the sun was casting such big shadows that many of the children’s faces are hard to see. #3.Grade 8’s are still kids and were getting hungry by this time (actually so were the adults so also in a hurry) and just wanted to get to the gym for their meal. ANYWAYS, I am uncertain whether the sheets were ever handed out (or received by the parents) but there was insufficient interest this year to justify my spending time on trying to fix the photo by adding the missing student into the original or anything of that sort.

It was really nice that none of the students/parents/teachers/etc needed to be convinced for consent to my using names/photos and this was a huge relief as it made posting details of their accomplishments and photos of the awards distribution much easier (no need to blur out faces). Unfortunately I did forget to ask about one student and one teacher whom I have blurred in instinces were they appear but these were few 🙂
