Freaky Friday and other thoughts…

EEEK… Emeraude has a dentist appointment this morning, not something I am looking forward to inspite of the fact that she likes the dentist… Maybe it’s because she has until now liked the dentist and I am worried this morning’s appointment may change that.

I was relieved when the dentist’s office called first to push our appointment back to noon then again to 14h (2pm). It is much easier to do something like that with some time to wrap your head around it. I’ve also had time now to look up Nitrous Oxide and how safe it is deemed to be for children.  According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, it is very safe and the information they had on their site helped reassure me quite abit in regards to it being an option for Emeraude. I also found some interesting information on the dangers of Nitrous Oxide here: http://www.justsayn2o.com/nitrous.dangers.html

I also decided to return to the 1st dentist Emeraude had ever seen (at this intial visit he hadn’t even counted her teeth being in no hurry and prioritizing her being comfortable with the office over having a reason to bill me) as he does offer nitrous oxide in his office where as the other dentist she saw afterwards, while very nice, did not.  Today’s dentist is not the one featured in our Emeraude Exploring: The Dentist (PDF)  book but that’s ok, I prayed on the situation alone and with Emeraude before starting to look for which office we would go to and feel confident that the Lord was involved in our choosing a dentist.

Camping progress continues. I have a ton of laundry on the go as I wanted to wash all the sleeping bags, blankets, etc. and our regular laundry had backed up a bit so, hopefully I will be getting on top of that by the end of the day. I need to load the camper now that it’s cleaned out and am not looking forward to that too much as I haven’t prepared a list or even thought about it too much. I work best with lists so, we’ll see how it goes.

Christ’s Day article is still giving me a lot of trouble. I am going to post some of the photos and hopefully be inspired by that.  It was such an amazing day that I was really worried about not doing it justice.  I have to dig up the email address of the wonderful lady who directed the event as I think there are a few details I may be missing.  There was $100,000.00 (retail value) in merchandise; non-perishable food goods, cleaning supplies, toiletries and such given out on Christ’s Day and that in itself is awesome but in addition to that one woman had a fence built, others had cleaning done – big things like wall washing that get put off when someone is too busy or un-well but that are so nice to have done.

The supper was incredible, what I had liked most was how nicely the tables were decorated, showing those coming to enjoy the supper that they were important and we appreciated the opportunity to make them a meal.

Having said all that I’m starting to feel a little better prepared to write the article.  I will pray for some guidance first and certainly it will all go well from there.

A few photos from Christ’s Day (I will post the bulk of them with my article).
