Getting to White Lake…

It took some work but we’ve finally made it out :). I had help to get the camper there, it needed to be taken out of the garage by four-wheeler and then was towed with a truck to White Lake Provincial Park where we hope to continue camping for a couple weeks at least.

Aside…

The big Pic Mobert pow wow is of
course not far off either, just a couple weeks, Emeraude tried on her regalia from last year’s AnishnawbeKeeshigun in Thunder Bay and it still fit perfectly, even her moccasin slippers she so loved dancing in. I had hoped to make her new regalia also but it doesn’t look like there will be time, maybe I’ll see about having something a little fancier for myself to wear? who knows…

It was so nice to finally get here. After our helpers left on their way back to Manitouwadge, the kids and I worked to get things set up and before we knew it, bedtime had arrived. Well, for Emeraude and I, Lloyd of course wanted to get out and see who else was camping this summer and quickly found a few friends from past summers & town.

I bought a new portable DVD player for us that I gave the kids on the drive up, they were thrilled of course and so when night time came, I set myself up and relaxed with a movie. I had not however, brought much of a selection so when we return to Manitouwadge I will be bringing back a bunch of DVD’s. Camping is pretty much the only chance I get to watch movies so it’s a big treat for me that I look forward to all year.

It’s not all fun and games of course, I do have a lot of work to finish up on with the deadline for Michigan Snowmobiler’s September issue coming up quickly. I have ad sales to wrap up as well as a couple articles. One from the Sno-Drifter’s Drag Races during Frosty Days this winter and another from our New Year’s Day ride to Sand Lake in January… The big job will be the latter & photos from it. I also promised an advertiser that I would have some sledding photos for them to use and would like to have that done tonite. So, it will most likely be another late one, without any movies L lol… still not bad since I’m calling it ‘work’ J

Also, the Emeraude Exploring Collection must continue progressing… This has become really difficult as I am having trouble with my computer which is holding things up. I am not able to burn anything on to CD or take files/photos off my comp any other way I’ve tried either. Aside from the obvious problem of overloading my laptop and not having backups of these files (like the firestation)
is the issue of having assured Canada Post and our uber friendly Post Master that they would have opportunity to approve the photos before I published them anywhere (privacy issues) sooo… Not sure at this point what to do with those problems but I do need to write the Manitouwadge/Marathon OPP detachment
for a visit there as well as writing a new female M.D. as our local one declined Emeraude’s request for a visit. Just typing my to-do’s here I am wanting to close
this and get to it lol

I will try and post photos of our camping adventures as often as possible but be patient as this is no easy task from White Lake and will most likely be intermittent at best.

Thanks for reading, hope you are having a great summer! God Bless!

The day before leaving, when Lloyd was still on crutches Emeraude layed down to 'take care' of him and the two of them fell asleep shortly after. xo this was too sweet to find when I went into the living room to check on them.
