Upcoming Events

Well, I’ve been over my head with backing up the computer, getting back from White Lake

(did I mention we had to pack up in the pouring rain, I almost lost my mind when I thought our arrangements for having the camper parked fell through and ended up at the front gate office in my underwear & raincoat LOL hahahaha, ok, maybe I did temporarily loose my mind but my joints were so stiff it was like setting cement, they hurt more than I care to remember and I still have no idea how I not only stayed standing but kept pushing on to get the whole place packed up just Lloyd & I… he ended up in a raincoat and boxers too for a while but only at the comfort station putting our jeans in the dryer)

anyways, also getting everything finished up for the deadline of Michigan Snowmobiler’s September issue, which of course I managed even finding the New Year’s photos’s today – Lloyd helped with that… Still trying to keep the Emeraude Exploring Collection moving, which it is just barely crawling along, I have some tour requests to mail out tomorrow afternoon I hope as well as finally having the post office photos on disk for approval from Canada Post.

All that to say I have not covered much in the way of news or events since the Cross-Canada Century Flight. Emeraude & I attended a  presentation from MNR Biologist, about songbirds of Northern Ontario which I have info and photos for an article from but have not put them together yet. I am also still struggling with the Christ’s Day article which soon will be pointless if I don’t wrap it up but the lady who organized the whole thing gave me an email that is invalid and so I am missing some details or rather the ability to double-check my details which I refuse to post or submit for publishing without. If nothing else my newspaper articles & news posts are accurate! (I make no claim to be an expert when it comes to covering news.. .my talent and abilities are for motorsport coverage in glossy mags or journal style mags like MichSnow)

So, I have been struggling with not wanting to post content which is purely personal. I know from the feedback I receive that there are a good percentage of readers of Hunter Blog interested in my challenges as a single Mom, homeschooler and living with MS but from the stats I have available it seems those who are clicking the ads (that’s where the revenue comes from on here) are people who come to read local/regional news and events. {If it was just about traffic I would cover more drop-in sports from the Rec as the basketball tourney they had for Canada or rather the photos I posted from it, generated record traffic for me. Unfortunately, from what I can tell, the teens didn’t click on many ads so….I must carry news}
I have realized tonight, in trying to brainstorm an agenda for what I will be covering in August, that I could make posts here and there about just that. Events that are scheduled in Manitouwadge & our region. Regardless of whether I decide through this to cover them or not, people I think must still want to know what is going on. I have tried to use the events calendar that you can find by scrolling down the sidebar on the right but it is not ideal. It takes a lot of time to post events on there and I am not certain anyone is seeing them there anyways.

Do you have an event coming up?

Let me know. either post it as a comment here or, if you required photography, promotion on the site here is included if I am booked for an event. OR if I am covering it for either the Chronicle or The Echo I will obviously post the article here in the end (although to ensure it is posted prior to ensure promotion opportunity is not lost, it would ideally be in some kind of widget on the blog here).
