One last swim

6852 03_02_2008The morning of Emeraude’s last swim lesson was very cold. The mercury never went above 10 degress celcius and I was not surprised when, around, 10am the phone rang and it was her instructor asking if I preferred she not swim. Emeraude however was ready to go, having put her swimsuit on an hour earlier in anticipation of the 11:20 lesson.

6856 03_02_2008I have to say the  instructors at the Manitouwadge Oasis Pool are incredibly dedicated and much tougher than I am! He had no problem getting in the water with Emeraude and even when a bit of frozen rain started to fall he stuck with it, even bringing her into the big pool where he of course had to get completeley soaked. Emeraude loved it and did a great job. They went through the skills she had been practicing one last time and after what seemed like hours (and I was on deck fully clothed with a warm jacket) her lesson was over so she, Lloyd, Daniel & I (she had requested a full audience for her last day) went downstairs where she got dressed and Jose, her instructor, presented her with a report card & sticker for her efforts.

He was really great, taking the time to go through the report card, he read the entire thing to her emphasizing her accomplishments and the skills she got down pat.

Great Job Emeraude!

back swim - AWESOME!

back swim - AWESOME!
