Wadgefest ’09

Well, it’s almost here…

Originally Wadgefest was intended as a ‘school reunion’ unfortunately for reasons that weren’t entirely released the school reunion was cancelled but there were many people who had already planned their trip to Manitouwadge or their events and thankfully, another group of people took up the torch and decided the festival would go on.

So, August 6th – 9th, 2009 (this coming weekend) there are a ton of great events taking place in Manitouwadge, including, my favorite a ‘Community Bonfire’ at the Lion’s Beach. They are calling for musicians (guitar players, singers and such) offering free Marshmallows and there will be glow sticks and pop for sale – too cool! **Please note that I had posted that the sale of these would benefit the Manitouwadge Cancer Assistance grouop, this is not the case but they are at the door for the dance this weekend and so if you want to contribute to their group which helps so many local people go to the dance!)

For those of you who either did not recieve your itinerary (they were delivered door-to-door in town) or need a new one, feel free to download it here. It’s a PDF so anyone can open and print it or just view it. Wadgefest_Itinerary_PDF

I will of course be attending as many events as possible and taking a ton of photos that you’ll be able to view here as well as participating in the Humane Society’s Wine & Cheese event which includes a Starving Artist Silent Auction to raise funds for the Humane Society. Come see me there! In addition to the print I will donate to the HS for auction I will also have photos from 2009 community and regional events to browse and order prints from for those interested.
