Jocelyn and

Guylaine Bourgoin were chefs for the day preparing juicy deep fried turkeys which were complimented by an assortment of salads and some special deserts like blueberry pudding, a favourite of the fur harvesters, contributed by attendees. A beautiful tanned beaver pelt was drawn as a door prize and was won by Jenny Sinclair, a perfect recipient, as she had spoken with trapper’s of her admiration of these pelts on other occasions.  Annual Trappers’ Picnic was held Saturday, September 12th at Russell’s Landing approximately 15km from Manitouwadge.  It was well attended in spite of expected precipitation as once again an open invitation had been made to the general public which welcomed new friends from as far as Harrow, Ontario as well as non-trapping neighbours from Manitouwadge who had never
before attended.
