MMHA Coach Karly Baker

Newlywed Karly Baker coaches the Manitouwadge Minor Hockey Association (MMHA) IP Level team with her husband Aaron.  Karly began playing hockey just three short years ago and loved it instantly wanting to share her passion for the sport with other new players she decided this year to become a coach. She says the IP team, which is the youngest in the MMHA, is great fun to coach as they are full of enthusiasm and good sportsmanship; “They are always so happy and eager to learn” said Baker.  You’ll find her on the ice twice a week, leading drills to teach her young hockey enthusiasts the skills they need to excel in the sport and learn about working as a team.  Her team will also be representing Manitouwadge at several IP tournaments on the Northshore later this season. 

Baker is a Grade 7 & 8 teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School where she also volunteers coaching volleyball, badminton, and cross-country running. When she isn’t busy volunteering Baker enjoys curling in both the ladies and mixed curling leagues.  A big thank you to Karly Baker for generously giving her time to kids in Manitouwadge helping to keep them busy and fit through the many sports she coaches!
