Brown announces preservation of Greyhound Service

Queen’s Park, December 2nd, Algoma-Manitoulin MPP Mike Brown was the bearer of very good news, announcing that Greyhound Canada, the only regularly scheduled bus available to Northshore travelers, will preserve its passenger bus service along the TransCanada highway more commonly known as Highway 17.

“I am pleased that Greyhound Canada is continuing its service, but  disappointed that its frequency will be reduced by one trip daily,” said Brown. Greyhound Canada reminded that final recommendations of the Working Group are yet to be received and these service adjustments are effective only on an interim basis.

“The long-term future of Greyhound Canada’s cross-country operations will
rely upon the outcome of the federal-provincial-territorial Working Group that is due to recommend regulatory and policy changes to Ministers in September 2010,” said Senior Vice President Stuart Kendrick, Greyhound Canada. All changes will take place January 17th, 2010.
