VENDORS WANTED for Poohfest

White River invites Northshore vendors to the party

by Karina Hunter

Members of the Community Block Party Committee (a subcommittee of White River’s Annual Poohfest), met April 22nd discussing a variety of issues related to planning of the always popular event which will take place August 2010.  Among the issues discussed were costs, supplies, liquor provisions, entertainment and security.

The committee will once again contract two Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police to provide security at the event.

Many of the evening’s volunteer positions have yet to be filled though the group seemed to feel confident that people will come forward to ensure the event rolls off without a hitch; they also welcome any High School students in need of community hours to participate in a volunteer capacity.

When discussions began in regards to vendors who would provide food and refreshments, an overwhelming majority of those gathered seemed to feel these would most likely be coming from elsewhere on the Northshore.

Any vendors, hoping to sell at the Poohfest Community Blockparty in White River which welcomes families from across the Northshore for an outdoor dance complete with fireworks should contact Tina at 807-822-2450.
