Jumpstart Fundraisers a Success

JumpStart Fundraisers in Nipigon & Marathon a great success

By Nathalie Houle

May 29th, 2010 –Today, from 12:30pm – 4pm, Canadian Tire Stores in Marathon and Nipigon held their 2nd Annual JumpStart Fundraising events.

Funds raised at each of the stores through their outdoor events today, will stay in their respective communities to help young athletes who apply to the JumpStart Program to receive funding for participation in organized sports. Additionally, two dollars from each in-store purchase today at Canadian Tire stores across Canada is donated to an emergency relief fund. An example of how these funds are spent – when the terrible ice storms happened in Quebec a few years ago, Canadian Tire helped with relief efforts providing water and other basic necessities to victims.
