MBA Meeting Summary – Looking towards elections

MBA LOOKS TOWARDS OPEN AIR MARKETS AND EXECUTIVE ELECTIONS

Debate became heated in regards to details of pending executive elections for the MBA.

MANITOUWADGE, ON – June 15th, 2010 members of the Manitouwadge Business Association met at the Township Council Chambers for their regular bi-weekly meeting.  Member business Wok ‘n Rolls treated the group to a variety of their delicious, oversized egg rolls for those attending the group’s regular meeting giving the low attendance numbers an upside as many returned for seconds or thirds of the tasty treats.

Approximately 10 people attended the meeting, less than ideal as the agenda had originally included voting in a new executive to assist the group in its continued progression towards the more formal association it requires to best represent Manitouwadge’s business community.  It was decided, after much debate, that the vote would be held off until the next meeting to allow one final opportunity for those interested in having a voice to step forward. Among those nominations received at the meeting were those for Jim Moffat as President, Margaret Hartling as Treasure, and several others, all will be officially voted on at the next meeting, along with any subsequent nominations submitted to Karen Robinson by email at Karen@manitouwadge.ca before the next meeting.

MBA MEETINGS ARE HELD THE 3rd Tuesday of Every Month at the Township Council Chambers.

Next Meeting:  July 20th at 7pm, 2010 at Council Chambers.
