Impaired Driver Charged

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(WAWA, On.) – On July 18, 2010 at 4:47 pm Ministry of Natural Resources staff in Lake Superior Provincial Park reported that two males in a red minivan were northbound on Highway 17 near Rabbit Blanket campground.  There had been open alcohol observed in the vehicle and the occupants had been consuming alcohol.  Superior East OPP in Wawa kept observation for the van and subsequently located the vehicle in Rabazo Township, Highway 17 just south of Wawa. 

As a result of investigation Murray LETEMPLIER age 41 of BLANC SABLON, Quebec was arrested and charged with Exceed 80 milligrams blood/alcohol content contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.  He will appear in Wawa Court on September 20/ 2010 to answer to the charge.  Readings obtained were twice the legal limit.  

The OPP is requesting the public’s assistance in keeping impaired drivers off our roads and waterways.  Please report anyone who you believe has been drinking and operating a boat or vehicle.
