178km/hr Stunt Driver Charged
from Superior East OPP
STUNT DRIVER CHARGED DOING 178 KILOMETRES/HR
(WHITE RIVER, ON.) – On August 23, 2010 at 4:48 pm Superior East OPP in White River were approximately 5 kilometres south of White River on Highway 17. A northbound 2000 Toyota Corolla, white was observed proceeding at a high rate of speed. The vehicle entered the RADAR beam at 178 kilometres in a posted 90 kilometre zone. The vehicle was stopped and the driver advised of the infraction. As a result the male driver Syed Omar GILANI, age 18 of LONDON, Ontario was issued a summons for Drive Motor Vehicle while Performing a Stunt contrary to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act. His Driver’s Licence and vehicle were impounded for 7 days. He will appear in Wawa Traffic Court November 19, 2010 to answer to the charge.
