Eaglesmith Promises to Return

Eaglesmith was in no hurry, spending more than an hour talking with fans after the show.

WHITE RIVER, ON – Wednesday, August 18th Winnie the Pooh Festival fun was kicked off with a concert by the Fred Eaglesmith Travelling Band at the White River Legion.

During his carreer, Eaglesmith has earned a loyal following of Northshore fans and they didn’t mind travelling to see him perform.  Gary Timms of Manitouwadge, who brought his teenage son along and the pair agreed the trip had been worthwhile “He isn’t just a great performer, he’s a comedian too” said Robyn Timms who couldn’t help sharing a few of the jokes Eaglesmith had told. “We’ve followed him for years” said Timms’ father adding “We’ve seen him in Thunder Bay a couple times also, the show is always worth the drive!”. The pair was not alone, there were fans who came from Terrace Bay, Schreiber, Pic Mobert and of course plenty of  locals rounded off the estimated 130+ fans who attended.

Afterwards, Eaglesmith was at the door, signing autographs and thanking fans for coming, there was also a wide variety of CDs and memorabilia available.  Eaglesmith told OntarioNewsNorth.com that “We’ll probably be back on the Northshore in about a year” adding “Eventually, I want to play in every Northshore town, Schreiber, Red Rock, Manitouwadge, one concert at a time we’ll get them all!”. Great news for Eaglesmith’s loyal fans who had thouroughly enjoyed the very energetic show.
