PIC MOBERT CAMPGROUND, ON – Saturday, July 30th festivities continued at the 24th Annual Pic Mobert Pow Wow (CLICK HERE FOR DIGNITARY INFORMATION) with 2 Grand Entries, in afternoon and evening (Though the drumming, signing, dancing and the  beautiful regalia of Grand Entry are incredible to witness, out of respect for those involved OntarioNewsNorth.com did not capture these via photo nor video; to enjoy the spirituality, culture an heritage of Grand Entry you will need to attend a Pow Wow yourself). The Evening Grand Entry was slightly delayed as organizers allowed everyone to finish enjoying the feast before beginning.

Immediately following Grand Entry, Canadian, Warrior, American  and Pic Mobert First Nation flags were retired for the day, during the traditional flag ceremony which was followed up with the Veterans Dance  in honour of the veterans who have served our country both in war and peace times, several of which there were in attendance.

The evening program included a memorial dance for Alan Desmoulin, his memory was honoured by family and friends while those in attendance showed their support and respect by standing while the dances took place and then joining in for the last rounds when invited by the MC.  Dancing continued well into dusk with special group dances being enjoyed by all.

The 24th Annual Pic Mobert Pow Wow winds up today, Sunday, August 1st, this afternoon’s Grand Entry is scheduled for 1pm.
