One thing is certain, voters have much work to do in determining whom they feel will best represent the Township of Manitouwadge on municipal council; those who are elected will not only represent the community on a local level, they will also be responsible for lobbying at provincial and federal levels, they will need to establish or continue relationships with MPPs and MPs, especially those in cabinet positions.  Council members will need to, at times, ignore their own personal political party opinions for the better of residents they represent, working with provincial and federal government is about much more than barking demands, it involves learning to navigate through the sometimes exhausting bureaucracies of our democratic governments.

OntarioNewsNorth.com will in the next week(s) be offering each candidate the opportunity to participate in a video interview to answer some of the general questions voters may have and share the reasons which they have both for running and for believing they are the best candidate for the position they are running for. If you have questions you’d like answered, please enter them as comments below, OntarioNewsNorth.com will make every effort to include your question(s) in the interview though no guaranties are made in regards to this.

PLEASE REMEMBER:

  • The same questions will be asked of each candidate (Specify if your question is for Mayor, Council person or both)
  • Candidates will not be offered an opportunity to disparage others running, the interview will be solely to voice THEIR OWN strengths, platform, beliefs and will NOT be to voice ANY opinion on others running for council
  • Questions should relate to the roles of Mayor/Councilperson and/or how these will be filled. (personal attacks on any of those running have no place here).
