Inquest Into The Death Of Douglas Heagle Postponed

Guelph — Dr. Dirk Huyer, Regional Supervising Coroner for Central Region, Guelph Office, today announced that the inquest into the death of Douglas Heagle, previously scheduled to begin on November 1, 2010, has been postponed.
Mr. Heagle, 38, died on February 3, 2009, at the Georgian Bay General Hospital – Midland Site following involvement with the Midland Police Service. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Heagle’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
A new date has not yet been determined.
