Impaired Charges Laid in Marathon

MALE CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE

MARATHON ON. – Friday October 1, 2010, at 03:00am Marathon OPP officers observed a motor vehicle that was travelling in a back lane at a high rate of speed.

The officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and upon speaking with the driver it was determined that he was impaired by alcohol.

Robin SIMARD, age 33, of Marathon, Ontario has been charged with “Operate a Motor Vehicle with over 80mg of Alcohol in 100ml of Blood”. SIMARD was released from custody and is to appear in Marathon Court on December 9, 2010 on these matters.

The public is encouraged to call 911 or contact police at 1-800-310-1122 whenever suspecting that a driver is impaired while operating a motor vehicle whether it is a Car, Truck, Motorcycle, ATV, Snowmobile, Boat or even an Airplane.
