Superior North CFDC Ready to Celebrate

Entrepreneurs and their innovative businesses are key to Canada’s and our region’s economic growth.  By responding to the changing demands of the marketplace and creating jobs, entrepreneurs continue to be a primary force in driving the economy.  In our community small businesses contribute to the local economy in many ways and in some communities they have been the backbone keeping the community alive.  These small businesses provide the many services we require and enjoy, supply employment opportunities, contribute to the local tax base and support many local charities and events through both donations and financial support.

Since its inception in 1979, as a small event in British Columbia, Small Business Week® has grown substantially in both size and scope.  Now a nationwide celebration of entrepreneurship, Small Business Week (SBW) continues to pay tribute to the important contribution that small businesses make to the national and local economy.  ® Small Business Week is a registered trademark of Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC.).

Entrepreneurs are idea people – filled with ideas, aspirations and objectives. They see an opportunity at every turn and are continuously looking for improvement. An entrepreneur’s life is frenetic, powered by a seemingly unlimited vitality. The entrepreneur’s tenacity is surpassed only by a strong passion for business.

The theme of Small Business Week 2010, “Power up Your Business. Invest.  Innovate. Grow.”

TERRACE BAY, ON – Superior North CFDC in partnership with PARO, and in conjunction with BDC, together are celebrating Small Business Week by hosting a ‘CFDC Day’  on Friday October 22nd.  This is Superior North CFDC’s way of saying “Thank You” to our community’s small business operators, as well as providing a networking and educational opportunity.  The event is being held in our offices at 7 Mill Road in Terrace Bay from 1:00 until 4:00pm.   All small business owners are encouraged to attend as we will be featuring three exciting presentations from PARO and Superior North CFDC on Succession Planning, Marketing and Customers Service.  These short presentations are designed to give an overview and demonstrate what additional information and training is available for those wanting more!  Refreshments and food will be served. There will also be an opportunity to win some great door prizes!

Superior North CFDC supports existing and new small business in our communities on a continuing basis with advisory services.  Thank you again, to all the small business operations in our community and every resident should bring themselves to visit their local businesses and thank them in person as together we celebrate Small Business Week.
