McGuinty Government Recognizes Innovations That Improve Patient Care

Ontario recognized six health care organizations from across the province for their innovations in health care over the past year.  

The winners were announced at the Celebrating Innovations in Health Care Expo, held November 10th in Toronto. The Expo highlighted innovative solutions and projects that support the province’s Excellent Care For All (ECFA) strategy and improve how Ontario delivers health care.

This year, the six award winners are:

  • Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre – Electronic Discharge Summaries
  • Mental Health Centre Penetanguishene – Tips and Tricks to improve your Metabolic Health
  • Human Endeavour – Healthy Outcomes of Preventative Engagements, or “HOPE” project
  • The Hospital for Sick Children – Remote retinopathy of prematurity screening pilot project
  • The Hospital for Sick Children – The Transport Remote Access Care System
  • Hamilton Health Sciences – Redesign of Multi-Site Hospital Total Parenteral Nutrition Processes.
