MANITOUWADGE, ON – The Manitou Sno Drifters have received $4000.00 through the Superior North CFDC Local Initiatives Contribution which is funded by FedNor. This money was used along with funds the club had raised to complete the purchase of the original Tucker Sno Cat from the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs.
The Manitou Sno Drifters maintain approximately 300 km of trails in the Manitouwadge area linking the communities of Marathon, White River with Longlac, Hornepayne and Hearst. The purchase of this machine will provide increased grooming opportunities to compliment the other machines in the fleet. There may also be occasions to assist surrounding snowmobile clubs in maintaining their trails to our community.
The club is looking forward to increased volunteerism and membership to make northern Ontario the snowmobiler’s destination of choice.
