Snow You Think You Can Dance?

MANITOUWADGE, ON  – Kiwissa Ski Club in partnership with the Community Services Department and the Northern Trails Ski Club will be hosting a Snow Dance Competition to take place at the Kiwissa Ski Hill.

What is a Snow Dance Competition? Well, contrary to my vision of it being a Dance Competition it is more of a Weather Control Competition; the idea is to make it snow BECAUSE of your dance similar to traditions of rain dances of many indigenous peoples around the world.

The Dance competition will take place on the stage in the Garage with two age divisions. Grade 8 and under and Grade 9 to Adult. Participants are encouraged to dress up and bring their own music to dance their routine to.

There is a $150 prize …for each category, where $50 goes to the winner and $100 is donated to a local charity/organization of their choosing. There will also be a bonfire with a weiner and marshmallow roast as well as hot chocolate for everyone.

Following the Snow Dance Competition at the Ski Hill, the party will move to KG’s bar where you can try your hand at Karaoke. We will be having a Karaoke Competition in the evening for anyone who can or can’t carry a tune. Judges will be voting on the best Snow Dance and the Best Singer of the evening.

“Wear white tonight, to make the snow shine bright over our town light.”
