Update Barricaded Male In Fort Frances Charged With Attempt Murder

 

UPDATE – BARRICADED MALE IN FORT FRANCES RESIDENCE

MALE SUSPECT CHARGED WITH ATTEMPT MURDER

Fort Frances, ON –The Fort Frances OPP Detachment and the Fort Frances OPP Crime Unit continue their investigation into an incident that took place at a residence in the 800 block of Scott Street. 

November 27, 2010 at approximately 4:30 am, OPP officers responded to the 800 block after receiving the report of a male being assaulted with a weapon.  Upon arrival, officers confirmed that one male had a stab wound and required immediate medical attention.  Another male had barricaded himself in a residence resulting in police containing the area of the residence until approximately 4:00 pm when he surrendered himself to police without incident.  The injured male remains in hospital with serious injuries. 

The accused, Richard Edward KABATAY, age 30 years of Fort Frances has been charged with Attempt Murder.  He has appeared before the courts and was remanded into custody at the Fort Frances District Jail where he awaits his next court appearance scheduled for December 6, 2010.
