We celebrate the spirit of giving throughout the year and especially at Christmas. Again this year, our students, families and staff participated in Operation Christmas Child. This has become a worldwide project, sponsored by the charitable organization, Samaritan’s Purse.  What a wonderful idea to fill a shoebox with toys, books and other surprises for children of all ages. These are sent around the world to children and families in difficult and desperate situations. We are fortunate to be able to participate in such a worthwhile activity and the response again this year was terrific. We collected approximately 70 shoeboxes.

Holy Childhood Day is a yearly festival of fun for our students, families and staff. This is our Advent project for the Holy Childhood Association whose motto is “Children Helping Children”. The funds raised are sent around the world to help communities with education, health concerns, clean water, agriculture etc. For this event we gather in the gym for the afternoon and each class organizes and runs a variety of activities this year these included;

  • face painting ,
  • photo booth,
  • Plinko,
  • bake sale,
  • popcorn sale,
  • surprise table and
  • book sale.

We eagerly look forward to this event each year. It is so much fun and we are able to raise a good donation for the Holy Childhood.

As we tell our students, events such as these represent our faith in action. When we put time and effort into these types of activities, we are putting the needs of others before our own. Our faith becomes visible. May God bless everyone for their participation and generosity.
