DRUG OFFENCES ON LONG LAKE #58 FIRST NATION TERRITORY

Long Lake #58 First Nation Territory, ON – On January 26, 2011 members of the Greenstone Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment attended a residence on Long Lake #58 FNT conducting a compliance check as part of the OPP’s crime abatement strategy. At that time officers observed drugs and drug paraphernalia in the residence. A search warrant was obtained and executed with the assistance of the OPP’s Northwest Region Crime Unit.

An amount of cocaine, oxycodone and drug paraphernalia was seized.

As a result of this investigation Mark BOUCHARD, age 41, and Duncan MISNAJANG, age 51, both of Long Lake #58 FNT, were arrested and charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. BOUCHARD is additionally charged with breach of probation contrary to the Criminal Code.

BOUCHARD and MISNAJANG made an appearance before a Justice of the Peace and were released from custody. They will both have their next court appearance in Longlac on February 23, 2011.
