Nipigon/Schreiber OPP Weekend Review

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE 

NIPIGON, ON –During the weekend of December 31, 2010 to January 3, 2011 Nipigon and Schreiber Ontario Provincial Police (OPP):

  • Issued 44 Provincial Offence Notices
  • Responded to 37 calls for service. 
  • Officers investigated 3 motor vehicle collisions
  • Conducted 6 R.I.D.E. checks.

January 1, 2011 at 3:35 a.m. Nipigon OPP investigated a single motor vehicle collision at Hwy 11 and 17, Town of Nipigon.  The driver of a small sized passenger car left the roadway and entered the north side ditch.  Investigation revealed that the driver had consumed alcohol.  The female driver, 46 year old Donna KILAR of Red Rock, Ontario has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Fail to Provide a Breath Sample contrary to the Criminal Code.

KILAR is to appear in Nipigon Court on March 22, 2011 to answer to these charges.
