McGuinty Government’s Plan Laying Foundation for Growth, Investments, Jobs

"Ontarians are strong builders -- they see the opportunity in our changing world and they're going for it. Our plan is bringing people together to build a stronger economy. It relies on the strengths and the skills of our people and supports innovative thinking to attract businesses and create new good jobs for our families." Dalton McGuinty, Premier of Ontario

Ontario’s economy is recovering from the global recession and growing stronger, creating good new jobs for Ontario families.

The McGuinty government’s economic plan has been laying the foundation for new growth and helping families and businesses plant Ontario’s flag in emerging industries such as clean energy manufacturing and digital media. The plan also includes:

  • Tax relief for families to help make ends meet.
  • Tax relief for businesses to improve our competitiveness and encourage new investments and jobs.
  • Investments in our colleges, universities and skills training.
  • Investments in infrastructure such as hospitals, schools, roads and bridges that create jobs now and improve quality of life in our communities.
  • A responsible plan to balance the budget.

The Premier spoke today in Kitchener-Waterloo, where the information technology industry is driving innovation, creating jobs and selling Ontario products to the world.
