MANITOUWADGE, ON

– Thursday, February 10th, just in time to kick off the community’s annual winter carnival, Frosty Days, the Manitouwadge Best Start Hub hosted a Community Sliding Party at Kiwissa Ski Centre to raise funds for the Brass Bell High School Bursary.  Residents came out to enjoy sliding outside as well as baked beans, hot dogs and refreshments inside. Mary Bellmore, owner of the Full Belly Deli, had offered use of the kitchen at Kiwissa, which she currently leases, event organizer Kelly Sagle, (Best Start Hub Program Coordinator) was very appreciative of Bellmore having spent the evening volunteering along side herself and Hub staff member Linda Jette “Without her help we would’ve had much more work in regards to the food and refreshments so it was really great that she offered and volunteered with us all evening” said Sagle.

Watch the interview below for more details in regards to the Bursary and Brass Bell.

These ‘Power Princesses’ were eager to get back out sliding after enjoying a snack in the chalet.
