OLOL Sliding Fun At Kiwissa

Some of the girls test their courage sliding on the Snow-Castle.

MANITOUWADGE, ON – Friday, February 18th, Junior and Senior Kindergarten students, and their teachers, from Our Lady of Lourdes travelled, with the help of parent drivers, to Kiwissa Ski Centre for an afternoon of sliding and fun.  Teachers had brought along crazy carpets while several parents also brought their kids flying saucers, GTs, and inflatable slides which the kids had a blast using on the lower portion of the Angel run.  Many of the little adventurers spent much of their time on the Snow Castle which was built for Frosty Days, it has 8 slides to choose from, a double stage and offers a great vantage point for those on top.

After plenty of fun sliding, everyone regrouped in the chalet for hot chocolate; the kids had brought their school bags so anyone who had worked up an appetite took the opportunity to also enjoy their afternoon snack.  The sliding party had been incredibly successful, though there were several crashes which, in the photos may seem quite dramatic thanks to the fresh, fluffy snow, they all ended in smiles and no one was hurt.  Special thanks to the teachers, parents and volunteers who made this possible. Mrs. Milks also wanted to give a big thank you to Mr. Young for his hospitality and welcoming everyone at Kiwissa, “This is how the rich people do it” joked Mrs. Milks appreciating how special it was for everyone to have the hill to themselves.

If you haven’t already, be sure to try out the Kiwissa Snow-Castle slides for yourself, no equipment is necessary and they really are fun for kids of ANY age (2-100yrs).
