Terrace Bay resident competes in Special Olympics Ontario Winter Games
Shannon showing off her medals to Township of Terrace Bay Staff. The Terrace Bay Township Employees sponsored a Special Olympics Athlete, Marianne Scharf from Ottawa, through the Adopt An Athlete Program.
Local resident, Shannon Moquin, participated in the Special Olympics Ontario Winter Games held in Thunder Bay on January 21 to 23. Shannon competed in snowshoeing and brought home 2 silver medals in 100m & 200m snowshoeing. Shannon also received the honour of reciting the athlete’s pledge in the Opening Ceremony. It was also a special weekend for Shannon as she celebrated her birthday with her Special Olympic Friends! Congratulation Shannon!
