The 2011 Green Tradeshow had approximately 750 people in attendance to see the environmentally friendly exhibitor booths and videos.  The Tradeshow featured a record 80 exhibitor tables encompassing the many shades of green including solar panels, pellet stoves,body products, environmentally friendly cleaners, healthy living information, and much more.  The Tradeshow helped local organizations fundraise close to $4,000 and produced 16 large boxes of food donations for the North Shore Harvest Food Cupboard and 10 bags of used clothing for the Canadian Diabetes Association.  The Tradeshow officially began at 12:30pm with a welcome address from Master of Ceremony Al Cresswell and Terrace Bay Mayor Michael King.  Thunder Bay – Superior North MP Bruce Hyer was also on hand to say a few words and everyone involved in the Tradeshow was thanked including Municipal staff, volunteers, and the exhibitors.  The Tradeshow then transitioned into an important announcement by the Jackfish Bay Remedial Action Program.  The ceremony included speeches from Kathy McDonald, the Technical Support Manager of the Northern Region of the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, a representative from Environment Canada and Dave Tamblyn, the Chair of the Public Area in Recovery Review Committtee (PARRC) .  The ceremony included the announcement of the official recognition of Jackfish Bay as an Area in Recovery.  The ceremony concluded with an incredible video on the history of the Jackfish Bay by project historian Bill Skrepichuk.  The video outlined the history of the area and outlined some of the improvements by the Terrace Bay Pulp Mill with estimates being $100 million since the early 1990’s in process improvements.  Ontario News North also broadcasted a live webcast from the Tradeshow with exhibitors and organizers saying a few words.  For more information on the Green Tradeshow, visit www.greentradeshow.ca.
