MANITOUWADGE, ON –  There was quite a disturbance yesterday in Manitouwadge’s downtown core as news quickly travelled through town that couple, Tracy Lynn Shawayahamish and Stan Labonte, engaged to married, were dressed up and, in the case of Labonte, willing to undergo a bit of friendly abuse, in honour of a tradition of ‘Selling the Groom’.

OntarioNewsNorth.com readers may remember Shawayahamish and Labonte as the parents of the 2010 New Year’s Baby.  Shawayahamish stood on the street (with help from her brother) re-routing traffic to the downtown parking space accross from the post office where passers-by, friends and family could by eggs, mollases, ranch dressing and other sticky/smelly things to throw at Labonte, all the while as she tried to sell her future spouse.

At the end of the day Shawayhamish apparently decided her groom-to-be was a keeper, but not before news had spread all the way to Rossport that a man in Manitouwadge was enduring some egg-ceptional circumstances all in the name of love!
