NIPIGON OPP ARREST IMPAIRED DRIVER

NIPIGON, ON – May 28, 2011 at approximately 12:30 a.m. Nipigon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle in the Town of Nipigon and found that the driver had been drinking.  While on patrol officers observed a vehicle 

May 28, 2011 at approximately 12:30 a.m. Nipigon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol in the Town of Nipigon, observed a motor vehicle driving all over the roadway.  After conducting a traffic stop officers found that the driver had been drinking.  The 52 year old female driver of Lyon Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operate a Motor Vehicle with Over 80mgs of Blood Alcohol Content contrary to the Criminal Code. 

Marie MALLET is to appear in Nipigon court on August 23, 2011 to answer to these charges.

During the weekend of May 27 to May 29 Nipigon and Schreiber OPP issued:

  • 30 Provincial Offence Notices
  • Responded to 26 calls for service. 
  • Officers investigated one motor vehicle collision
  • Conducted two R.I.D.E. checks.
